Sri Lanka Immigration Arrival Card – General Information

The Sri Lanka Arrival Card Online was implemented by the government as an electronic immigration form that enables simple formalities for those who want to cross the Sri Lankan border by sea or air. Now, immigration services are mostly digitalized, which eliminates many forms that should be presented.

Travelers need to submit the Arrival Card within 7 days before the planned journey to Sri Lanka. The form can be completed in a few minutes. To do that, you should share information about the travel and personal details, such as name, surname, date of birth, nationality, etc. Then, pay the fee and wait for the confirmation sent by email.

Printing out the confirmation is not needed, as the Online Arrival Card links directly to the passport number. That’s why your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. When you arrive in Sri Lanka, you need to show documents to the immigration officers during the check.

Important: The Online Arrival Card is not the eTA equivalent. You need to prepare for your trip and collect all the necessary documents in order to cross the border in Sri Lanka without problems.

• Your passport must be valid for at least six months if you want to travel to Sri Lanka and complete the required forms.
• The travel purpose of the visitor needs to be the same as was declared in the form.
• The extension can be made by the Department of Immigration and Immigration in Battaramulla, so you should contact them for more information.
• There’s no need to print out the Arrival Card to Sri Lanka because the form directly links to the passport number.
